Balboa Park December Nights
This weekend San Diego’s largest holiday festival will be returning to Balboa Park. December Nights will be taking place on both Friday and Saturday, during the following hours:
- Friday, December 6th – 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
- Saturday, December 7th – 11:00 am to 11:00 pm
This family friendly event will be filled with amazing performances, activities, merchants, lights, and multi-cultural food to be enjoyed in spirit of the holiday season. Many of the museums will be extending their hours, and will be open at night for the public to visit for free. You may find further details on the event’s official website at:
Due to the expected size of the festival, the following nearby roads will be affected:
- Sixth Ave. and Laurel St. will serve as a rideshare pickup/drop off area, and also as 3 minute active loading zone. (These zones are located directly in front of Park Laurel’s parking garage gates and townhomes)
- El Prado Dr. will be closed from Friday, December 6th at 6:00am until Saturday, December 7th at 11:59pm.
- No parking will be permitted on Sixth Ave. from Friday, December 6th beginning at 12:01am until Saturday, December 7th at 11:59pm.
The city has posted numerous signs to help safely guide the public, however please expect heavy traffic and large crowds throughout the area. A map has been attached for your convenience.
Extra staff will be on duty for both days of the event to assist with traffic control.
