It is required by the State, that we enter every condo to ensure that your alarms are functioning and sprinklers are inspected, for your safety and the safety of others. A member of the Management team will be escorting West Coast Fire & Integration and Symons Fire Protection to each unit to conduct this test.
The Alarm testing/inspection will begin on the roof, however the techs will start entering units at the Penthouse level and make their way down each floor ending at the lobby level. Each Unit will take 3-5 minutes, depending on the devices and their connectivity to the panel.
While the techs are inside the units, they will be sounding off the A/V devices which will alarm the floor that they are testing, as well as the floor above and the floor below. In addition to the alarms, you will hear an announcement stating that there is a “fire in the building, please evacuate”. Do not evacuate when you hear this, as this is part of the annual testing. Each Unit will hear the A/V Alarm devices between 1-3 times and it will last between 2–5 minutes. The techs will also conduct a visual inspection of the fire sprinklers located throughout the unit.
All townhomes, 2nd-floor units, and commercial units can expect to hear alarms on both days since the north and south towers are connected on these levels.
If you have pets, meetings, zoom calls, or just can’t stand the alarms, we recommend making plans to be away from the buildings between 8 am and 4 pm during your respective days.
Kind Regards,
