Welcome to Park Laurel

Community Update

Thank you for your efforts in keeping your distance and following the guidelines of one household per elevator. It isn’t easy, but we sincerely appreciate your efforts.

We are focused on briefings from all sources and taking part in discussions about new best practice measures with many HOAs. A brief message from Action Property Management’s CEO can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWJYIgDrhKQ. I am also attaching this week’s publication of Life at Home, which now includes crossword puzzles.

Yesterday, the County of San Diego issued a public health order pertaining to face coverings. Under this order, it makes it mandatory that essential staff who interact with the public wear face coverings effective tomorrow, Saturday. This order includes the staff at Park Laurel. Please don’t be alarmed when you see us all in masks.

If you are interested in making your own mask, here is an example of an easy way to make one. https://blog.japanesecreations.com/no-sew-face-mask-with-handkerchief-and-hair-tie

Next week, we are planning a community bingo event via teleconference. If you are interested in dial-in bingo, please let me know. More details on the fun event will be sent out next week. The event is complimentary, and the prizes will be more fun rather than monetary.

Thanks again for all of your patience during these unique times.

COVID-19 Message

The Board of Directors and Management have been working closely to ensure that we are taking necessary actions during these challenging times. The health and safety of our residents and staff are paramount to all else, and we appreciate your confidence while we make some adjustments at Park Laurel.

It was recommended to the Board that the Association’s amenities be closed immediately to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This comes at the advice of those we rely on, and in following suit with many of the other condo communities around town. Effective immediately, our amenities will be closed for three weeks, at which time the Board will re-evaluate the situation. This includes the Fitness Center, Pilates Room, Pool Deck and barbecues, and the Prado Room.

With the modernization underway for the last set of elevators, we realize that there will be heavier traffic in the service elevators. The Association will be holding off on the approval of any new and unnecessary construction in the residential units. If you have a question or concern about something that you have pending, please contact Ryan. Housekeepers will still be permitted to clean the units, but anything out of the ordinary will need to be approved by the General Manager.

To ensure that individuals are maintaining a six-foot separation as proposed by the CDC, we recommend that only one household take an elevator at a time.

You may have noticed some additional precautions that are being taken by the Association to protect our residents and staff. This includes a six-foot barrier around the front desk with a table that packages can be set on. A request was also sent by Management last week about making calls or emails to the staff unless you absolutely have to come down for something. Our Front Desk is also offering to place your package on the elevator and send it up to prevent you from having to come down and make any contact with anyone. Please take advantage of these services when you can.

Our Management Team, including those onsite and those at Action Property Management, have developed an emergency response plan specific to Park Laurel in the event that we see a “stay in place” order like what is taking place in San Francisco this week. This plan includes providing “essential” services.

Many household cleaning supplies, including Lysol, Clorox, and toilet paper products are
