The Board of Directors and
Management have been working closely to ensure that we are taking necessary actions
during these challenging times. The health and safety of our residents and
staff are paramount to all else, and we appreciate your confidence while we
make some adjustments at Park Laurel.
It was recommended to the Board
that the Association’s amenities be closed immediately to help prevent the
spread of the COVID-19 virus. This comes at the advice of those we rely on, and
in following suit with many of the other condo communities around town.
Effective immediately, our amenities will be closed for three weeks, at which
time the Board will re-evaluate the situation. This includes the Fitness Center,
Pilates Room, Pool Deck and barbecues, and the Prado Room.
With the modernization underway
for the last set of elevators, we realize that there will be heavier traffic in
the service elevators. The Association will be holding off on the approval of
any new and unnecessary construction in the residential units. If you have a
question or concern about something that you have pending, please contact Ryan.
Housekeepers will still be permitted to clean the units, but anything out of
the ordinary will need to be approved by the General Manager.
To ensure that individuals are
maintaining a six-foot separation as proposed by the CDC, we recommend that
only one household take an elevator at a time.
You may have noticed some
additional precautions that are being taken by the Association to protect our
residents and staff. This includes a six-foot barrier around the front desk
with a table that packages can be set on. A request was also sent by Management
last week about making calls or emails to the staff unless you absolutely have
to come down for something. Our Front Desk is also offering to place your
package on the elevator and send it up to prevent you from having to come down
and make any contact with anyone. Please take advantage of these services when
you can.
Our Management Team, including
those onsite and those at Action Property Management, have developed an
emergency response plan specific to Park Laurel in the event that we see a
“stay in place” order like what is taking place in San Francisco this week.
This plan includes providing “essential” services.
Many household cleaning supplies,
including Lysol, Clorox, and toilet paper products are
no longer available at
the store or online. The Association has enough supplies to hold us over for
over a month, and we are ordering more supplies as we use them in case products
are backordered.
Our partners at Waxie Janitorial
have been instrumental in providing us with concentrated products that can be
diluted onsite, including hospital-grade cleaners. You may notice some of the
products are less fragrant, but they are significantly more powerful. Our
housekeeping staff is working increasingly hard to sanitize surfaces, including
door handles, railings, elevator buttons, and bathrooms throughout the day.
During this time, we realize that
you may not be able to obtain toilet paper and an essential household item. If
you need a roll, please contact Ryan, and depending on our stock of supplies,
we may be able to provide you with a roll (at a cost). Please refrain from
flushing other items like paper towels or wet wipes down the toilet as that
will cause clogs in the waste lines.
Lastly, we realize that some of
our residents may need assistance with things like groceries or meals, or just
someone to check-in on them. If you find yourself in this position, please know
that there are residents at Park Laurel who have expressed their willingness to
assist. Please contact Ryan if there is something that you need help with.
We thank you for your confidence,
especially during these difficult times, and look forward to the day when we
can return to normalcy.
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
Park Laurel Owners Association
